The Tyranny of Details

It’s been a crazy day getting ready for the weekend ahead. Abbey and I, along with a couple of friends and fellow teachers, will be camping out at the Regis Center lobby for the next two days to man the pre-registration booth for White Space.

As someone who’s never really directly sold anything in her life, preparing for this weekend has been a completely new experience. So much boils down to the most mundane details (i.e., do we have a table? do we have a nice enough table cloth to cover the table? are we going to come in matching outfits? what are we going to do about lunch?).

In light of everything I’ve experienced so far, I’ll have to say that it’s not that the devil’s in the details. The devil is the details.
