On the Fragility of Thought

A couple of days ago, while I was having a long-delayed massage, an idea for a brilliant post started hatching in my mind. Before I knew it, I was writing the piece in my head, the words running merrily along the tracks of a mental page. I was sure I wouldn’t forget something so cleverly thought up, so I dismissed the idea of at least typing some of the key thoughts into my phone. (“How can I possibly forget?”)

Well, here we are, a few days later, and I’ve completely forgotten everything.

I wonder how many Nobel-prize winning ideas have been wrested from posterity due to mind-warping massages.
